ANDANCE

The conventual priory Notre-Dame, located 131 km from La Chaise-Dieu. Known since 1146, the priory maintained 6 monks.
The priory of Andance was united in 1542 to the Jesuit college of Tournon-sur-Rhône (FRANCE-Ardèche-.07).
The church depended on La Chaise-Dieu and the patronage of the prior, as well as the churches of:
- Illins (XIVth century) (Luzinay - FRANCE - Isère - 38),
- Saint-Désirat (1475) (FRANCE - Ardèche - 07),
- Saint-Etienne-de-Valoux (FRANCE - Ardèche - 07),
- Saint-Sorlin (XIVth century) (FRANCE - Ardèche - 07),
- Talencieux (FRANCE - Ardèche - 07),
- Thorrenc (FRANCE - Ardèche - 07).
The prior was decimator at Andance, Saint-Désirat, Saint-Etienne-de-Valoux, Talencieux, Thorrenc, as well as at Saint-Cyr (1459) (FRANCE- Ardèche-07).
The prieural domain included in 1296 monastic buildings, lands and especially the Andean port of Andance frequented in the 15th century by "merchants Lombards and Piedmontese"
The Prior had complete jurisdiction over Andance, with rights in the custody of the lay lord of Thorrenc who was to hand it over to the Abbé de la Chaise-Dieu on his requisition.
At Saint-Desirat, Saint-Etienne-de-Valoux, and Talencieux, direct censure and justice were divided between the prior and the lord.
At Thorrenc, where was the seigniorial castle, the prior had only a quarter of the lordship, the lay lord being lord of the three parts of Thorrenc (1466).
The seigniory of Andance was not for the Casadeans a peaceful possession. The inhabitants knew how to recognize some franchises, including the exemption of any size.

CROS-DE-GEORAND

The priory Notre-Dame was located 94 km from La Chaise-Dieu, it is known in 1279. The priory maintained two monks. The church is under the patronage of the prior (1434). The prior was decimator (1351).
The prieural domain consisted of vast pastures whose possession led to conflicts with the neighboring land lords, in particular the Cistercian Abbey of Mazan (1378-1394)(Mazan-l'Abbaye FRANCE - Ardèche - 07).
The prior was co-lord righteous with the lay lord of Georand, his commandment comprising only the church and its outbuildings and the manse of knights (1279).

MARCOLS-LES-EAUX (Saint-Julien d’Orcival)

The Priory Saint-Julien was located 119 km from La Chaise-Dieu Marcols-Les-Eaux (FRANCE - Ardeche - 07). It had been founded in the time of St. Robert.

ROCHEPAULE

The conventual priory Saint-Pons (monastery of Rochepaule: Lucius IIII, 1184) was located 105 km from La Chaise-Dieu.
Founded in the time of the abbot Durand (1067-1078) by a lord of Tournon for his son Pons, he was offered to La Chaise-Dieu which he was abbot (1093-1102) before becoming Bishop of Puy-en-Velay (FRANCE - Haute-Loire - 43) and to be buried in Rochepaule whose priory was placed under his invocation.
Conventual, having at least 5-6 monks, the priory had only 3 in the 14th century: "following an ancient tradition, the Benedictine monks who served this priory (died) of the plague in 1347".
The church depended on La Chaise-Dieu before 1184, as well as those of Saint-Agrève (FRANCE - Haute-Loire - 43), same diocese; Colombier-le-Vieux (FRANCE - Haute-Loire - 43), in the diocese of Vienna.
The prior was decimator (1184). The prior was lord righteous until modern times. The priory was under the care of the Dauphin to whom the prior had to pay, upon taking office, a right of custody. From 1296, this right, included in the dowry of Alix de Viennois, wife of Count Jean I, passed to the Count of Forez. Part of the parish, the land of the Coast, was out of the seigniory of La Chaise-Dieu who acquired it in 1381, Guillaume de Fay.
But the Casadeans exchanged it in 1470 against that of Collat ​​in Livradois (FRANCE - Haute-Loire - 43).

SAINT-PHILIPPE-D’ALBA

VOCANCE
