DAMPIERRE-SUR-LINOTTE (Presles)

The priory Saint-Pierre, in the diocese of Besançon (FRANCE - Doubs - 25), was located 150 km from Grandson. Known in 1275, it was united to Grandson in 1289, at the request of Otton I of Grandson (SWITZERLAND - Vaud). The church given to La Chaise-Dieu by the Archbishop of Besançon, William II, between 1258 and 1268. The lordship Priory was abandoned in 1320 to Perrin de Presles in charge of paying the prior of Grandson and his suite for seven days during when he went to Presles.

FAVERNEY

The monastery of Benedictine nuns was founded in Faverney in the 8th century, in the diocese of Besançon (FRANCE - Doubs - 25). It is located 490 km from La Chaise-Dieu. It was submitted to La Chaise-Dieu in 1132 by the Archbishop of Besancon, Anseric, and the Count of Burgundy, Renaud III, nephew of Pope Calixtus II. The abbot was elected in chapter of La Chaise-Dieu, confirmed by the abbot general and then blessed by the archbishop. On the religious level, Faverney was only a secondary house which only founded 2 priories Fleurey-les-Faverney (FRANCE - Haute-Saône - 70) and Bourbonne-les-Bains (FRANCE - Haute-Marne - 52) and one 3rd was ceded to him by La Chaise-Dieu in 1407 Hautevelle (FRANCE - Haute-Saône - 70). Fourteen churches depended on Faverney (Amance, Arbecey, Baulay, Buffignecourt, Cubry-les-Faverney, Dampvalley-Saint-Pancras, Fleurey-les-Faverney, Hautevelle, Menoux, Mersuay, Ormoiche, Tremonzey, Andilly (Andilly-en-Bassigny) and Poiseul) (all FRANCE - Haute-Saône -70).
